MISS HELEN DUNTEMAN

Helen Dunteman was a highly respected social studies teacher in the Little Falls school district for many years, retiring in 1962.

Helen was both a lifelong Little Falls resident and a graduate of Oneonta State Normal School. She passed away in 1984.

The Little Falls High School graduating class of 1958 dedicated their yearbook to Helen, noting that: “The members of the Class of 1958 are proud to dedicate their yearbook to Miss Helen Dunteman, who for forty years has been both teacher and friend to the students of Little Falls High School.”

One of Helen’s former students wishing to remain anonymous has recently given the Little Falls Historical Society a very sizable financial donation in her memory. This former student feels  strongly that Helen had great positive influence on her success in her life and professional career.
