The Privy and the Pear Tree: Unearthing Little Falls History in Your Own Backyard
Have you ever wondered what might be buried on your property?
The Little Falls Historical Society invites you to attend a special presentation given by Laura Laubenthal for a fun evening of discovery
The presentation “The Privy and the Pear Tree: Unearthing Little Falls History in Your Own Backyard” will be held at the WCA, 534 Garden Street, on July 28 at 6:30 PM.
In 2017, Laura Laubenthal and her husband, Erik Genalo, dug a hole in their yard with the goal of planting a pear tree; however, a few scoops from the shovel revealed the historic garbage pit of their 1886 home. In this presentation, Laubenthal will display artifacts found using a shovel and metal detector as she connects the unearthed fragments to past homeowners and moments in Little Falls history.
Please use the back entrance to the WCA to attend the event.
